Location:
Mariendorfer Damm 64, 12109 Berlin
Bezirke: Tempelhof - Schöneberg (Mariendorf)
Overall Döner Score: 7/10
Notes: 5 is the baseline in this rating system. That means anything above 5 is above average and everything below is below average.

Bread (8/10): The bread here is homemade and very good. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, as it should be.
Sauce (8/10): Standard sauce options: Knoblauch, Kräuter, Scharf, but all are homemade. The Scharf was appropriately spicy and quite tasty, but the Kräuter really steals the show here. It has a strong curry flavor to it, which is quite unique— at least among the Döner I have tried— and utterly delicious. I am a huge sucker for curry flavored sauces and this was certainly a memorable one.
Toppings (6/10): It is also a pizza shop so they have lots of topping options, though I personally stuck to the standard Döner fixins. Vegetables were fresh and crisp.
Meat (6/10): Slightly above average, but not too different from most Döner shops. Juicy, thinly slices, nicely seasoned.
Overall impression: Basileus is an above average neighborhood Döner shop that, in my opinion, is worth a trip across town. They traffic in high-quality kebab consisting of homemade bread and sauces, as well as fresh toppings. If there weren't so many other Döner shops left in Berlin to conquer, I would return here regularly.
